Parent Committee

Swim team can’t function without a parent committee. We need your help to keep things running smoothly. Many of these roles have responsibilities in the off season and/or not during meet hours. Don’t like working alone? Grab a friend and do the job together!! Reminder, these roles cover your regular season volunteer requirement! Interested? Contact us at cameronwoodsharks@gmail.com

Parent Committee Roles:

Team Manager - Manages all aspects of swim team, including hiring coaches, communications with parents, directing the parent committee volunteers, assisting coaches as needed to support the team. *Commitment: year round, multiple hours a week during the pre-season and swim season.

Meet Setup - Assist with setup and teardown of pool deck for home meets. This includes: hanging backstroke flags, moving chairs behind dive blocks, arranging clerk of course benches/chairs and holding area. *Commitment: 30-60 min prior to home meets (3 times per season).

Volunteer Coordinator - Check in volunteers at meets and explain volunteer responsibilities. Help fill gaps in volunteer schedule as needed using swim team email database. *Commitment: 15-30 at the beginning of each home & away meet. Periodic emails prior to meets.

League Rep - Attend annual spring league meeting. Communicate with other division reps during the swim season regarding schedule/location changes. Be available at meets for any scoring/meet/weather related issues that need resolution (a rare occurrence). *Commitment: one 60-minute meeting per year, attendance at most meets, periodic emails during the year.

Treasurer - Manage income, expenses, and reimbursements. Reconcile with CWSRC balance at the end of the season. *Commitment: less than 30-minutes per week during the swim season, less than 30-minutes per month during the off season. Requires computer access.

Fundraising – Contact local businesses to raise financial support for the swim team. Follow-up as needed to confirm/collect donations, etc. *Commitment: time as needed to solicit businesses in the local area during the off-season.

Social Planner – Help our coaches plan and execute social events during the season (past social plans have included: pancake breakfast, Saturday donuts, popsicle practices, awards night/late night swim). *Commitment: time as needed to plan/shop/and attend social events.

Home Hospitality – Provide waters for coaches and volunteers and meal tickets for coaches during home meets. Coordinate occasional “treat” races during home meets. *Commitment: shopping for waters and “treats” 3-4 times per season, attendance at home meets.
